1st TPE workshop nominated co-chairs Profs Tandong Yao, Lonnie Thompson and Volker Mosbrugger held their first get-together meeting in Chicago during January 20-22, 2010, discussing the 1st TPE workshop report and Newsletter. They also came up with a list of candidate members of TPE science committee, waiting to be announced and decided in the 2nd TPE workshop in Kathmandu this October. Key scientific questions, mission statement and research approaches, as well as the road ahead for the TPE project were also discussed and clarified among these three co-chairs, arriving at an agreement to jointly promote the project into an international multidisciplinary effort.
