To strengthen cooperation with scientists around the Third Pole region, ITP recently welcomed a delegation from Myanmar Geosciences Society (MGS) consisting of present and former Presidents of the MGS, Profs. Soe Myint and Dr. Win Swe, respectively, and its Vice-President Dr. Kyaing Sein. Both sides first acquainted each other of their international cooperation and academic programs. Delegates from Myanmar then introduced “Geosciences study of Myanmar” and “Nature Resources of Myanmar” to ITP scientific staff. As an exchang, ITP Profs. DING Lin and TIAN Lide introduced from each of their own perspectives on the geological and environmental studies in and around the Third Pole region. Visiting Myanmar delegates were later shown around the laboratories under construction in the ITP new building.

Deepened mutual understanding is believed to be conducive to comprehensive cooperation in the future between ITP and MGS in both geological and environmental studies around the Third Pole region.
