Known as the third pole of the world, Tibetan Plateau attracts world’s attention with its forming and evolution, as well as its influence on world climate, human life and productions, said Prof. Li Jiayang, Vice President of CAS at the Fourth International Symposium on the Tibetan Plateau.
Since the first symposium, which is held in 1980 in Beijing, now more and more scientists and scholars are turning their eyes to the Plateau. The symposium held in Lahsa this year has called upon more than 350 specialists worldwide to discuss such issues as geodynamics, alpine meteorology and climate studies.
