Translated from www.people.com 10th, August
On 10th, August, I joint Sino-Japanese group to Tanggula Mountain in North Tibet and Nianqing Tanggula Mountain. This group is led by Prof. Ma Yaoming, a researcher in ITP. The task of this group is to conduct a series of studies on the atmosphere, soil and energy-water circulation that affect the Plateau.
At about four in the afternoon, we arrived at Bijie, a place at the foot of Nianqing Tanggula Mounntain and was acknowledged as one of the 36 observation centers within the "Global Coordination and Strengthening Plan." There were various advanced and sophisticated equipment in the station. They were used for measuring the air, the wind speed, soil and pollution degree on the Plateau. On the top of a 30-meter pole was a monitoring box, which took the research staff an hour to fetch and change, due to its altitude.
A number of scientific tasks have been conducted in Bijie station until nine at night. Then the group settled down finally in a simple hotel, thus ended the first investigation day.
