On 26th, October, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) held a seminar for candidates within the “One-hundred Talents Plan” to study the realities of both CAS and the whole nation.
Prof. Lu Yongxiang, President of CAS addressed the meeting. He first introduced the CAS situation to the 103 candidates, highlighting the goals of its knowledge innovation project. He also pointed out the opportunities and challenges CAS has concerning talents competition facing economic marketing and globalization.
During his discussion with those scientists, he reiterated the principles of CAS—Science, Democracy, Patriotism and Devotion and its guideline—to respect facts, to pursue truth, to cooperate and to innovate. For the future development of CAS, he called on more Chinese young scientists to have determination and courage to aim at scientific research frontiers and devote themselves to higher achievement in scientific and technological fields for the prosperity of our nation.
