The fund by National Natural Science Foundation Committee (NSFC) for natural science development in 2005 would witness a large increase compared to that in 2004. Prof. Chen Yiyu, director of NNFS committee recently expressed such a view during the conference of NNSF committee, which ushered in a new year for natural science program application and implementation
He Minghong, head of Bureau of Planning in NNFS committee shed light on the work done in 2004, including the financing of 7711 elementary programs, 224 key programs and 173 important research projects, as well as the funding of 157 Chinese young scientists for their natural science programs.
In 2005, NSFC committee would give more financial support to natural science development in China. Officers in concern introduced, these support would mainly be used to address those elementary and key programs. It would also consider issuing fund for some large research projects if considered necessary.
