The Fourth Complex Scientific Expedition to Mt Qomolangma managed to reach the base camp, 6500m of elevation on April 20th, 2005. All its crew members were so far reported to be in good health and spirit. Up to now scientists have succeeded in carrying out various observations in spite of all difficulties and collected samples and data for studying glacial hydrology, atmospheric physics, geological monitoring and other aspects in concern.
ITP leaders have sent congratulation letters on their achievement and encouraged them to retain their predecessors’ courage and endurance to accomplish their tasks there.
