On April 21st, 2005, ITP’s foreign expert, Prof. Bill Isherwood of US, made a lecture to the graduates of ITP on climate change. This is the second time for the expert to give lectures on relevant studies in the institute.
Prof. Isherwood addressed several issues of impacts, predictions and responses of global climate change in the past decades, with some figures and examples to illustrate the ongoing climate changes worldwide. His lecture has aroused broad interest from the students, who raised questions after the lecture to communicate with the professor and share their views about the complicated issue.
In the coming week, the professor will give another lecture on energy and the environment. The students consider the lecture given by a foreign expert very intriguing and helpful, as English is now almost the science language and the ability to understand as well as express themselves in English therefore was essential. Besides, through the lecture, students also have the opportunity to catch up with the recent progresses in the research of global climate.
The institute, which initiated such lectures, was very delighted at the result and promised that such academic lectures would be scheduled regularly in the future.
