The 1st CliC (Climate and Cryosphere) jointly held by Japan and China kicked off in Yokohama,Japan from April 20 to 22, 2006. Over twenty Chinese delegates from State Meteorology Bureau, ITPCAS, Institute of Remote Sensing and Application CAS, and CAREERI participated in the conference. Present were also 84 delegates from dozens of other countries including Japan, USA, Canada, England, Norway, Pakistan, Nepal, Russian, Mongolia and etc.

5) large-scale interactions between cryosphere and atmosphere;
6) data base of cryosphere;
