On July 11, 2006, Prof Wang Jian of the Beijing Institute of Genomics, CAS visited the Nam Co Station. Prof Kang Shichang of the Station exchanged scientific views with him on some scientific issues. Participating scientific staff learnt from their presentations more about monitoring and research subjects in the Station. Prof Wang also shed light on the study of different reactions of people to the plateau sickness from physic perspective. ‘If solved,’ he envisioned, ‘such a subject will improve alpine medical development.’ Thereafter, Prof Kang and Wang got down to future cooperation on lake microbes on the Plateau.
