After visiting the office building, experts’ apartment, ‘Joint Lab of Human and Environment on the Tibetan Plateau’ and regional fixed satellite station in Lhasa, President Cao convened with administrative officials of the ITP and its scientific staff in Lhasa, as well as those in Beijing through video conference. He approved the achievement of the ITP in the past three years, hoping that ITP would better serve scientists’ research on the Plateau for the academy as a whole. He stressed the importance of data sampling and accumulation in the field in the long run. Transmission of these valuable data back to Beijing to facilitate efficient lab research was also highlighted. To do so, he promised to launch projects from the academy’s level and that of nation’s, to push forward data transmission from Tibet to Beijing.

Finally, he hoped research force on Tibetan Plateau study within China will cooperate fruitfully with each other, applying fully interdisciplinary study to this subject.
