The ITP should equip itself with long-term observation and monitoring system, so as to serve for a multitude of scientific research of the Tibetan Plateau, and better serve for benign social and economic development in the region. To get a general idea of ITP’s research work on the plateau and further guide the scientific research of the institution for the social wellbeing in the Tibetan Plateau region, Prof. Ding Zhongli, CAS Vice President, led a delegate to the Tibet, and visited the Southeast Tibet Station for Comprehensive observation of Alpine Environment, Plateau ecological experiment station at Lhasa, and ITP’s Lhasa campus. The CAS delegate also visited the Tibet University before meeting with personnel from the Department of Science and Technology, the TAR (Tibet Autonomous Region) for further cooperation.
