On July 17, 2009, Prof. Xiaozhen Xiong, senior researcher of NOAA, was invited by Prof. Yaoming Ma and associate Prof. Qinghua Ye to give a talk on ‘satellite remote sensing of trace gases and the Ch4 plume over the Plateau during the monsoon season’in ITP's Beijing office. Prof. Xiong’s academic report was presented in three aspects, satellite remote sensing, numerical modeling and ground observation. His talk also aroused active discussion among scientific staff present at the lecture, leading to bilateral intentions on collaborations in the future.
