A set of ultrared temperature collecting system (IRR-P) was configured over the Nam Co Lake on August 11, 2009, aiming at consistent lake temperature monitoring. In application, such equipment can provide data of lake surface temperature and lake-ice mobility, as well as serve for reversion of remote sensing of evapo-transpiration. Two more pieces of such equipment were configured respectively on the Zhadang Glacier on the Nyqingtanglha and Rongbuk glacier on Mt Qomolangma for persistent observation of surface temperature of ice, snow and glacial runoff. Data acquired thereupon would be used for study of glacier-lake interaction and hydrological processes on the Tibetan Plateau.
