Invited by Prof. KANG Shichang, assistant professor Susan Kaspari of Central Washington University is making an academic visit to ITP on May 16. She will report on her study of paleoclimatology from ice cores in South Tibet.
Susan Kaspari is experienced at ice core paleoclimate reconstruction and has published several papers in internationally acknowledged journals about ice core record and atmospheric circulation. She has recently shifted her focus to the determination of black carbon concentrations in snow and ice from the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau. In this presentation, she will summarize her study with Mt Everest ice core next Wednesday, and propose some food-for-thought for further study of climate in the region.
Report: Climate and Environmental Variability as Inferred from a Mt. Everest Ice Core
Venue: conference room on the second floor of ITP office building
