Invited by Prof. YAO Tandong, Dr. Tobias Bolch of University of Zurich is visiting ITP on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. An active participant in the Sino-German cooperation in the Tibetan Plateau research, Dr. Bolch has been to the Tibetan Plateau numerous times. He has wide research interests, among which, the monitoring of glacial status in the Tienshan and the Himalaya  using GIS and remote sensing is gaining wider acknowledgement internationally.  

During this visit, he will also guest at the 3rd Tibetan Plateau Science Forum by presenting his latest study of glacial changes on the Tibetan Plateau and its surroundings.
